As the first woman, first Black person, and first person of South Asian descent to become the Vice President-Elect of the United States, Kamala Harris has made history in more ways than one. Her ascension to the second-highest office in the country has been celebrated by millions of people around the world, particularly women and people of color who have long been underrepresented in the highest levels of government.
